RAFF Day 2

I started the day off at the NFB. The Out Of The Ordinary Youth Shorts Presentation was packed! Great films all around. I love it when filmmakers show up for their screenings. The Q&As always add to the whole experience.

I hopped over to Innis for the Power Play Canadian Presentation program. Again, a packed house and a wonderful variety of films. I am proud to say two fellow YorkU film people screened their films - Joyce Wong and Jane Kim.

In the evening, I made my way over to the Spin Gallery for the Lightning Doodle Project
party. Insane. These guys are so cool. As a photographer I really respect their talent. Check them out here.

I gotta get some sleep. There's a ton going on tomorrow, including...RAMeN!!!!. If you guys don't already know about it, it stands for Reel Asian Music Night. And I bet it's going to rock hard.

It's on...

Wow. What an evening. I promised I would update this blog for y'all every night. So here is your first post!

It was a full house at Bloor Cinema tonight. Justin Lin's latest film, Finishing the Game, opened this year's Reel Asian fest with a spinning roundhouse. Here are some pics from the red carpet and the screening.

The opening party was held close by at the Century Room. Wicked food by Spring Rolls, awesome tunes from DJ San Fran and an all around amazing evening.

We're off to an amazing start!

For all those who were at the opening, get some rest! Tomorrow we get things rolling with something Out of the Ordinary. And if you weren't at the opening, there's a ton of stuff going on so check out the schedule, here. There's something for everyone!

Throughout the fest, if you happen to see me running around with my camera, feel free to ask me to take your photo! You just might make the Reel Asian blog!

Ladies and Gentlemen. Let's get ready to rumble!!!

If your schedule is not already clear, clear it. The festival kicks off tonight (literally), with Justin Lin's Finishing the Game! It's going to be a wicked evening. Roger Fan and Dustin Nguyen will be there and I guarantee you some other big names will be in attendance.

Check out the trailer.

The film starts at 7pm but come early like me and get some shots of celebs on the red carpet.

Following the film is the festival kick off party at 9:00pm at Century Room, 580 King Street West. Wanna chat up filmmakers, fest staff, fellow Asian film lovers? Be there.

See you there!
